2019 Lazy River
Nestled on the edge of a tree-capped promontory in the northern reaches of the foothills, Lazy River is a study in juxtaposition; south-facing yet much more sheltered than the surrounding ridges. It sits 400 feet above sea level atop a rare convergence of both marine sediment and volcanic soil. These moderating influences create a unique combination of depth and earthy richness.
The 2019 Lazy River almost shines when it hits the glass with a brilliant, pale ruby hue. The aromas are complex and powerful: cacao, red cherries, fresh fennel, and sandalwood jump out of the glass. The palate is rich and feels almost like a cordial with a velvety texture, spice box, and creamy red fruit packed densely together. The finish is lengthy and fresh, with invigorating acidity supporting, rather than overwhelming the fruit.

"Aromas of flowers and strawberry puree with some hibiscus follow through to a medium body with pretty fruit and a fresh finish. Linear and fine-textured."
